Bheeshma Passes Away
Text-32 to 42
King Yudhistra wad disturbed about the killing of warriors of both the side.
They all along with Lord Krishna went to see Bheeshma ,The senior most Statesman ,The head of the Kuru dymasty. He was waiting to leave his material body during the time the of the fire God’s effulgence (Uthrayan shukla paksha ekadashi ) and when the sun is in northern horizon , and thus to achieve the transcendental sky .
He was a Pure Devotee of the Lord, and they all arrived on the day Bheeshma intended to leave the body.
Bheeshma was happy to see all of them King Yudhistra clarified lot of issues on Dharma , Beheeshma gave a detailed lesson on governance.
Then He appreciated the divine appearance of the Lord. He meditated on his divine Look.
Confirming the the words of Srimath Bhagwth Geetha chapter 8 Verse 5 to 15. He withdrew his mind from every thing else and concentrated on on the personality of Godhead Sri Krishna who stood before him, four hands,dressed inyellow garments that glittered and shined.
Then The Pure Devotee who gave us Vishnu Sahsra naama ,sung his Last prayers in 11 verses. (the famous Bheeshma Sthuthi) from Text 32 to Text 42.
He starts the Prayer saying that he invests his thinking feeling and willing on the Lord now as this was engaged on various subjects and Occupational duties.(Text 32)
In the next Text he acknowledges the fact Lord Krishna is (Vijaya Sakhe) the intimate friend of Arjuna.He describes the beautiful look of god and say he does not desire any furtive result.
He wants his mind to remember how the lord who took part in the battle with Arjuna .
He further recalls When Arjuna wants his chariot to be placed in the battle and says in verse 22and23 of Srimath Bagwath Geetha
(Arjuna said: O infallible one, please draw my chariot between the two armies so that I may see who is present here, who is desirous of fighting, and with whom I must contend in this great battle attempt.
Chapter 1, Verse 23.
Let me see those who have come here to fight, wishing to please the evil-minded son of Dhrtarastra.)
The Lord Simply looked and by his merciful glance he shortened the life spans of enemies.
He recalls the activities of the Lord and wants his mind to be fixed on the lord.
He leaves his body in Krishna chinthan , Krishna dhyanm and krishna sthuthi and does Athma Samarpanam .,as if he is demonsrarating the Navdha Bhakthi even at the hour of death.
Bheeshma sthuthi and Kunthi Matha Sthuthi are very important for enrichment of Krishna Bhakthi.
