13.Srimath Bhagvatham. Magalacharana shlokas Tribute to Vyasa Deva.

Vyāsadeva is mainly known for his work as the complier of the Vedas

He also wrote supplementary scriptures such as the Itihāsas, eighteen Purāṇas, one-hundred-eight Upaniṣads, the Mahābhārata, the Brahma-sūtras (Vedānta-sūtras) .

The itihāsa-purāṇās was entrusted to Romaharṣaṇa Sūta and Śukadeva Gosvāmī (Vyāsa’s son), who later became the first person to publicly recite the Bhāgavatam.

Each of these scriptures contains thousands of millions of verses, a feat that is impossible for a common man.

One can only imagine what potency it took for Vyāsa to write in that way. For this factual reason, Veda-vyāsa is considered to be an incarnation of Lord Kṛṣṇa.

Lord Nārāyaṇa Himself appeared as Vyāsa.

Therefore the present Vyāsa is Kṛṣṇa-dvaipāyana Vyāsa, for He is Lord Nārāyaṇa Himself and not an ordinary śaktyāveśa-avatāra.

vyAsAya vishNu-rUpAya vyAsa-rUpAya vishNave
namo vai Brahma-nidhaye vAsishtAya namo namaH.

 

[ My repeated salutations to vyAsa who is a form of vishNu and to
vishNu who is a form of vyAsa- sage vyAsa, who is a descendent
of vasishta and who is a treasure of brahman, (i.e. vedas). ]

The Second Shloka of Srimadh Bhagvatham (Mangalacharana shloka)
dharmaḥ projjhita-kaitavo ’tra paramo nirmatsarāṇā satāṁ
vedyaṁ vāstavam atra vastu śivadaṁ tāpa-trayonmūlanam
śrīmad-bhāgavate mahā-muni-kṛte kiṁ vā parair īśvaraḥ
sadyo hṛdy avarudhyate ’tra kṛtibhiḥ śuśrūṣubhis tat-kṣaṇāt
Completely rejecting all religious activities
which are materially motivated,
this Bhāgavata Purāṇa propounds the highest truth,
which is understandable by those devotees who are fully pure in heart
The highest truth is reality distinguished from illusion for the welfare of all. Such truth uproots the threefold miseries.
This beautiful Bhāgavatam, compiled by the great sage Vyāsadeva [in his maturity], is sufficient in itself for God realization.
What is the need of any other scripture?
As soon as one attentively and submissively hears the message of Bhāgavatam, by this culture of knowledge the Supreme
Lord is established within his heart.

12.Srimath Bhagvatham. Magalacharana shlokas.satyam Param Dheemhi.

 

Srimadh Bhagwtham starts with meditation of absolute Truth Sri Krishna

o namo bhagavate vāsudevāya

VASUDEVA

janmādy asya yato ‘nvayād

itarataś cārthev abhijña svarā

tene brahma hdā ya ādi-kavaye muhyanti yat sūraya

tejo-vāri-m yathā vinimayo yatra tri-sargo ‘mṛṣā

dhāmnā svena sadā nirasta-kuhaka

satya para dhīmahi.

O my Lord, Śrī Kṛṣṇa, son of Vasudeva,

 O all-pervading Personality of Godhead,

I offer my respectful obeisances unto You.

I meditate upon Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa because

 He is the Absolute Truth

and the primeval cause of all causes of the creation, sustenance and

destruction of the manifested universes.

 He is directly and indirectly conscious of all manifestations,

and He is independent

because there is no other cause beyond Him.

 It is He only who first imparted the Vedic knowledge unto the heart of Brahmājī, the original living being.

 By Him even the great sages and demigods are placed into illusion, as one is bewildered by the illusory representations of water seen in fire, or land seen on water.

 Only because of Him do the material universes, temporarily manifested by the reactions of the three modes of nature, appear factual, although they are unreal.

 I therefore meditate upon Him, Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa, who is eternally existent in the transcendental abode,

which is forever free from the illusory representations of the material world.

 I meditate upon Him,

 for He is the Absolute Truth. He is Our Lord Krishna.

All other things are false temporary .

He is Sath Chith Ananda Swaroopam . Which is Sathyam.Absolute Truth.

11.Srimath Bhagvatham. Story about Suta Pouranikar.Ugrasrava

 

  • Satra yagam  was performed for 1000 years
  • It was done by sounakadhi 80000  rishis in Naimisharanyam.
  • Yagna-or-Yajna-The-Sacred-Fire-1
  • In the evening bhagavth charithram was heard.
  • Sutha pouranikar Ugrasravawas welcomed.
  • Sutha puranikar was the son of Romharshnar.
  • When Lord Balarama visited the place there was a great sacrifice being performed by a great assembly of transcendentalists.
  • Such meetings were planned to last thousands of years.
  • When Lord Balarama arrived, all the participants of the meeting–great sages, ascetics, brahmanas and learned scholars–immediately arose from their seats and welcomed Him with great honor and respect.

    Unfortunately, after being worshiped and seated at His place, Lord Balarama saw Romaharsana, the disciple of Vyasadeva (the literary incarnation of Godhead), still sitting on the vyasasana.

  • . He also observed that Romaharsana not only did not come down from his exalted seat, but he did not even stand up and offer his respects when Balaramaji entered the assembly. Lord Balarama did not like the audacity of Romaharsana, and He became very angry with him.
  • When a person is seated on the vyasasana, he does not generally have to stand to receive a particular person entering the assembly.
  • Bhagavatam that the topmost perfection of religiousness is to be engaged in the devotional service of the Lord.

    After seeing the deficiency of realization in Romaharsana Suta, Lord Balarama decided to chastise him for being puffed up.

  • At the death of Romaharsana Suta, everyone present became much aggrieved, and there was roaring crying. Although all the brahmanas and sages present there knew Lord Balarama to be the Supreme Personality of Godhead, they did not hesitate to protest the Lord’s action, and they humbly submitted the facts.
  • The Supreme Personality of Godhead therefore solved the problem in a manner befitting His exalted position, and said, “Because the son is produced from the body of the father, it is the injunction of the Vedas that the son is the father’s representative. Therefore I say that Ugrasrava Suta, the son of Romaharsana Suta, should henceforth take his father’s position and continue the discourses on the Puranas,

    The Supreme Personality of Godhead therefore solved the problem in a manner befitting His exalted position, and said, “Because the son is produced from the body of the father, it is the injunction of the Vedas that the son is the father’s representative.

  • Therefore I say that Ugrasrava Suta, the son of Romaharsana Suta, should henceforth take his father’s position and continue the discourses on the Puranas, and because you wanted Romaharsana to have a long duration of life, this benediction will be transferred to his son.
  • The son, Ugrasrava, will therefore have all the facilities you offered–long duration of life in a good and healthy body, without any disturbances and full strength of all the senses.” He Got the blessings of lord Balrama .

10.Srimath Bhagvatham.About NaimiSharanyam .Where Srimadh bhagwatham was narrated.

Naimisharanya is situated on the left banks of river Gomathi a tributary of river Ganges.
Naimisharanya is popularly known as Neemsar, Naimisha. Naimishe’-animish-kshetre meaning Naimish is the abode of Lord Vishnu called by his name Animish.
Following sloka of Sri Vishnu Sahasranama (sloka-23) describes Lord Vishnu as Animisha, meaning the one who is ever awake, ever alert, and ever vigilant. He is the wisest of all.
!!GuruH-gurutamo dhaamaH satyaH-satya-parakramaH
Nimishh- o-animishhaH sragvee vaachaspatir-udaaradeeh!!
With the onset of the universe, 88,000 Saints and Sages went to Lord Brahma and prayed him with the notion to know the ideal place for uninterrupted meditation, a place which will liberate one from all the difficulties and sins, a place where one can get divine knowledge and for performing spiritual rites for the welfare of the humanity.

After hearing their prayers Lord Brahma told them that he would send his disc (called Manomaya Chakra) and it will direct them to the sacred spot.

He also said that wherever its axis will fall, that particular place will be the focal point of their sacred place for meditation. Having said this,
He released his Chakra and all the Saints followed its path.

After completing several revolutions around the universe, finally the Chakra settled at a deserted place and addressed the Saints that, this place which is dwelled on the banks of AdiGanga Gomati is free from all sins and calamities. Moreover, any deed performed on this sacred place will give beneficial results. There is no other holy place, as this one in this entire universe.

Saying this, the Chakra fell into the Yagyashala.
yagya shaala Due to its powerful fall with thunderous speed the underworlds broke down and huge gushes of water sprouted from underneath. Lord Brahma requested AdiShakti (divine power) Goddess Sri Lalitha Devi to stop the “Brahma Manomaya Chakra”. The divine power stopped that chakra and thence forth settled at this place as Lingadhaarini.
Since then, this place where the axis of Brahma Manomaya Chakra (Nemi) fell surrounded by the forest came to be known as Nemisharanya or Naimisharanya, and it became the central place for performing meditation by all the Saints and Sages. The spot where the Chakra struck the earth and water spring came out became known as Chakra Theertha.
From those days on wards these rishis were performing continuous yagna for Lokakshemam.

9.Story of Atmadev. 4. Bhagvatha Mahtmaym. Mukthi to others by Bhagvatha sapthaha shravana .

  • Go Karna saw the prathyaksha roopam of god.
  • Go Karna asked ? Why this special treatment to the pretha shareera and not to us.
  • The pretha’s one point programme was to get rid of his sins .
  • He had no interest and material aspirations left.
  • Lord Said others should repeat the Rasaanoboothi as many times possible and at the time of end of life(Dehavasana samye) Lord shall grant them Moksha

  • Chapter 18: Conclusion-The Perfection of Renunciation

    sarva-dharman parityajya
    mam ekam saranam vraja
    aham tvam sarva-papebhyo
    moksayisyami ma sucah.
  • There is no need of strenuous effort to free oneself from sinful reactions. One should unhesitatingly accept Krsna as the supreme savior of all living entities. With faith and love, one should surrender unto Him..

  • That simple surrender unto Krsna will save him from unnecessarily wasting time. One can thus make all progress at once and be freed from all sinful reaction.and attain Moksha.
  • He narrated many times. Both Vaktha and shrotha (Listeners and the speaker) enjoyed the protection of lord during material existence went to Vishnuloka as determined by the lord .

8.Story of Atmadev. 3. Bhagvatha Mahtmaym. Dhundukari’s Mukthi by Bhagvatha sapthaha shravanam.

  • Dhundukari roamed as pishcha demon Ghost
  • he was repenting for his sins.
  • Go Karna having known the unfortunate death in the family  performed all shrardham ceremonies in Gaya .

  • Gaya Theertham is Gadhadhrakshetram.
  • Rituals/Pinda pradhanam is done in Vishnu Padaham, Akshyaya vatam and River Phalguni river.

  • The Kshetra mahimai is such all our pithrus and others for whom we offer Pinda attain mukthi.
  • Dhundhli (mother) attained Mukthi.
  • But When Gokarna returned home . He Saw his brother as ghost with no sign of salvation .
  • Dhundukari Confessed that his sins are so much only some special divine efforts could rescue him.
  • GoKarna inquired the learned scholars and they had the same answers.
  • So he prayed Soorya Deva and wanted solution.
  • Lord SuryA
  • Soorya Deva said that Srimadh bhagavatha Saptha shravanam.
  • krishna bahgwatham is the only solution for granting Mukthi. This is the Special Mahatmyam of Srimadh Bhagwatham

    All the villagers gathered .

    The Krishna Karuna has been bestowed to them .

    DhuNdukari sat in a wood moongil with 7 knots and heard the bhagwatham.

  • The bhawatham was told for seven days.

    Each day one knot blasted and on the 7 the day the 7 th knot.

    And dhundkari was relived from sins . Vishnu dhoothas came in Golden chariot and took hin to Vishnu lokam .

    Before going he thanked his brother and did namaskarms .

  • This is the Mukthi Pradhana  vaibhava Mahtmayam.

Dhundukari ‘s Attrocities : Dhundakari started beating his father Athmadeva for want of more money.

 Gokarna saw the attrocities and told Athmadeva that your son is Lord Krishna who resides in Dashama Skanda of Bhagwatham .

  • Atmadevar went to jungle followed by gokarnas advice. He started doing Dasahma skanda paryanam and attained lord’s feet.
  • Dhundhukari became worse .
  • His mother could not tolerate.
  • She committed suicide.
  • He married five vaishyas.
  • They were avaricious.
  • He started stealing kings money
  • They took the wealth and decided to kill dhundukari
  • they killed him .
  • he died.
  • He got pishcha uruvam. Became a ghost
